Peashooter, EX shots and a different parry
The release description gives each replacement a specific role. Hold the Peashooter to fire, with upward and diagonal aiming; silk skills become Cuphead's EX shot, while Cross Stitch becomes a Cuphead-style parry. The hand-drawn character frames and Cuphead sound effects come from the local companion installation, not an included bundle of game assets.
What still belongs to Silksong
The shooting layer does not discard the host game's interactions. According to the listing, Peashooter hits still refill silk, operate levers and fill the Hunter's Journal. A downward attack still lets you pogo. That makes the relevant comparison a reworked character and attack set within Pharloom, rather than a claim that Cuphead's own campaign has been imported.
Two Steam installations, one local extraction
Both Steam editions are explicit prerequisites, not just game tags. The first Play reads the Cuphead material from your installation; the release says nothing from either game is included in its download. Melty displays Connor Davis as the publishing profile and does not give a separate maker alias. That profile is retained as listing attribution, not treated as proof of sole authorship. The page credits StudioMDHR for Cuphead and Team Cherry for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
